John R. Mathiason is President and Managing Director of AIMS, Inc. His 30-year career with the U.N. included being Deputy Director of the Division for the Advancement of Women where he had a major role in planning the Fourth World Conference on Women. He has worked extensively in program and project planning and evaluation both within international organizations and in technical assistance capacities. His areas of focus include gender training and community participation. He is Professor of International Relations at the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs of Syracuse University, teaching and publishing in international public management. He works in English, Spanish and French, and has a Ph.D. in political science from M.I.T.
Frederick Williams was director of evaluation services at a number U.N. organizations and US federal agencies. His experience includes being in charge of the IAEA evaluation program, directing the planning and evaluation activities of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees and heading the evaluation office at the Peace Corps. He has has worked extensively in project and program management at the US Department of State, the Agency for International Development, and various federal departments. He has been involved with staff training and human resource development during most of his career, and has consulted extensively since leaving the IAEA. He has a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Illinois.
G. Matthew Bonham is a Professor of Political Science and was Chair of the International Relations Program at the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs of Syracuse University. He is an internationally recognized specialist in distance collaboration and in the evaluation of international decision-making processes. He has been a consultant to the Government of Norway and the World Bank, and has directed leadership training programs for Eastern European officials.
Punit Arora is a Ph.D. Candidate in Strategic Management and Public Policy at the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. Prior to this, he worked as a senior administrator with Government of India and managed strategic planning and outcome evaluation at several public organizations. He has led several gender sensitization, white-collar crime control, and strategic control and performance evaluation campaigns, for which he was recognized as a “government innovator” by Harvard University. Other professional recognitions include a Certified Fraud Examiner charter from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Austin, TX, and several medals and awards from the Indian government and other constitutional bodies.
Ann Sutherland has extensive management experience in the non-profit sector in Canada, the U.S. and internationally. During her career she has led strategic planning, fund development, organizational capacity building, community development, participatory research and evaluation processes. Primary areas of focus include gender issues and at-risk youth.
Ana Menezes has advanced degrees in environment studies, public administration, aquaculture and agronomy; and 20 years of experience with the Government of Mozambique, FAO and the World Bank among others. Her main work has been in planning and execution of program/policy evaluation and environmental awareness and mainstreaming, with fishing and agriculture villagers and environmental planners to develop integrated rural development programs. Her policy focus is the interdisciplinary balance between social sciences and humanities based on sound understanding of the biophysical sciences to effectively address the challenge of environmental issues in developing economies. Languages include Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish.
Mark Meisner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) in Syracuse. He also has experience as a magazine editor, a computer consultant and an administrator of cultural programmes in the Canadian government. His areas of expertise include communication and information, media, climate change / global warming, and environmental issues generally. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from Queen's University at Kingston, as well as Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Studies from York University in Toronto.
