AIMS has published a history of the United Nations Program for the Advancment of Women from 1945 through preparations for the Fourth World Conference on Women, entitled The Long March to Beijing: the United Nations and the Women's Revolution, The Vienna Years. Written by John Mathiason, AIMS' managing director, who was Deputy Director of the United Nations Division for the Advancement of Women from 1987-1996. In honor of the 50th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, the full text is available for free download. Current Projects |
AIMS provides assistance to public and not-for-profit organizations in systematic, low-cost performance monitoring and evaluation. Clients have included the International Atomic Energy Agency and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization where AIMS has developed resources on self-evaluation of programs and projects and the Club of Madrid where it has done training in evaluation. |

| WorldEnable is a website developed jointly with Vision Office Support Services, Ltd. in Canada where issues of Internet accessibility can be explored and discussed. This contains material for a Seminar on Children with Disabilities in the Region of the Americas, held in Panama from 16-20 October 2000 and which AIMS helped organize and facilitate and includes a Latin American regional Seminar on Internet Accessibility for All held in Mexico City from 4-7 June 2001 with the FundaciŪn Mexicana de IntegraciŪn Social and the Interregional Expert Group Meeting on Sustainable Livelihoods held in Jakarta from 14-16 January 2002 as well as more recent developments including the process of developing a new United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. | |
